This scholarship provides $1000 and a competitive waiver of out of state tuition. This program has specific additional requirements and you are NOT required to enter the university through this program. Do you want to enter the MSU through the Caribbean Recruitment Program?
You will be required to participate in the Caribbean Students Organization; to assist in the development of the program; assist other students who arrive in subsequent semesters; assist the organization in fund raising, cultural, social and other events; maintain a 3.2 GPA, attend a mandatory orientation before departure; work cooperatively within a group atmosphere.
Outline any religious, personal, or other limitations on your ability to fulfill the above requirement?
Outline specific contributions you would like to make to advance the program. Be sure to include any talent such as drama, dance, cooking, music, public speaking that you possess that will be an asset to the organization.
The organization is led by a student executive and directed by a faculty and staff from the Caribbean. Do you have any problems adhering to leadership from peers and fellow nationals?
The continuation of scholarship, housing discounts, and other benefits of the program will depend on BOTH your grades and your participation in this program. Do you have a philosophical difference with that mode of assessment? If so, please explain.
Write a short note explaining why you believe or not believe in requiring scholarship recipients to participate in and build the structure that provides them tangible benefits.
I subscribe to the idea of Caribbean regional unity and a regional identity. Write a short statement agreeing or disagreeing with that statement.
