BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS part of the efforts to promote St. Kitts as a vacation destination to the key North American market, the island will be featured today (June 4) at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time on the hit TV game show, Wheel of Fortune, on ABC.

This is according to a communiqué sent by Cathy A. Preece, VP and Accounts Supervisor of the New York-based Adams Limited, who stated that officials had secured this opportunity for the island to provide a prize giveaway on the show.

In return for providing a 7-day/6-night stay for two, generously donated by the Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino, views of St. Kitts would be shown by video with voiceover copy appearing on air for 15 seconds to the show’s 29 million viewers weekly.

According to the Preece, the cost for a 30-second advertisement during the show is US$85 000-US$100 000.

Wheel of Fortune, an American television game show, was created by Merv Griffin and is hosted by Pat Sajak and Vanna White. It features three contestants or occasionally three pairs of contestants, who compete against each other to solve a word puzzle for cash and prizes.

The show was first aired in 1975 and is the longest-running syndicated game show in American television history. It is believed that 39 percent of its viewers tune in five days a week.
