BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – MUSIC VIDEOS have become a great way for artistes to promote their singles, and one of the videographers leading the way is Nigel Lewis of Tru Capo Productions.

The young man, who has been producing music for just over a year, said that music videos are a great way to promote an artiste’s song.

He told SKNVibes that he has already produced over 10 music videos for some of the top local artistes in the Federation.
His first video was Jungles’ ‘Bun Boderline’ and this was followed by SMI’s ‘I Stay Fresh’ music video.

He said his most popular videos that have received major feedbacks and views were the ones he did for Infamus’ ‘21 Gun Salute’ and ‘Feel Like Crying’.

Lewis also said that he has received positive feedback for ‘I Stay Fresh’, as persons have commented that it was his best production. He further said that Minister LK’s ‘Where is the Love’ and Pepperranks, ‘Never Like Dah’ have also received positive feedback.

He said that he is now moving into other productions and not only produce music videos, but also commercials and is looking at producing a local show shortly.

There is no doubt that music videos have added to the popularity of local artistes and have helped to promote them and their music.

Because of such music videos, the artistes now receive more exposure and opportunities. But Lewis does not want to take credit for that. He feels that the artistes are just taking their music and career to the next level, which is a good thing.

Lewis revealed that he has produced music videos for most of the local artistes on this year’s Music Festival, including Infamus and Jah Fire. “Music videos can help carry you places,” he said.

He is no longer a one man show and has employed several persons to be a part of his production team that will help in writing scripts for the videos, directing and also the actual shooting.

“We also welcome the ideas and concepts from the artiste as well,” Lewis said. The young producer said that many people have been complimenting him on the great job he is doing by giving local artistes another avenue for exposing their talents.

“People are now getting to the artistes on a different level,” he added. In terms of his videos being played on Tempo, Lewis said it was about time they were shown on the Caribbean network.

Lewis said that persons could look out for a cartoon music video soon from a local artiste, and noted that he would be releasing music videos from King Konris, Dime, D.C, Ashkenaz and SMI.
