Basseterre, St. Kitts -The People’s Action Movement Constituency #4 group has given indication of their nomination for the position of political leader of the 45 year-old Party.
Clive Webster, Chairman of the group on Wednesday gave notice that his group is nominating Lindsey F. Grant for the Leadership position which will become vacant at the party’s delegate convention.
which is scheduled to be held this Sunday June 13th at 1:30 pm at the Royal St.Kitts Hotel.
“The constituency group has met on a number of occasions and have discussed the various executive positions that will become vacant at Sundays delegates convention and it was unanimously felt that Mr. Lindsay Fitzpatrick Grant should remain as the Political Leader of the party,” said Constituency#4 Peoples Action Movement Group Chairman Mr. Clive Webster.
All National Executive positions of the party will become vacant at the weekends delegates event and according to the party chairman Mr. Sydney Osborne, all position are being actively campaigned for and pursued by a plethora of intelligent, capable and committed persons.
This Osborne indicated, is testament to the popularity, and vibrancy of the party.
“The positions that will become vacant are being actively pursued by a wide cross section of persons and in my view this reflects positively on the vibrancy and popularity of the party and this point despite all the recent happenings,“ said the People’s Action Movement National Chairman Sydney Osbourne.
“This weekends caucus will probably be the most keenly anticipated and one of the most pivotal and significant delegates convention in the party’s history,” Osborne continued.
Mr. Grant is the only person that has been officially nominated by any of the party's constituency groups.
The election of officers at Sunday’s caucus will be ratified at the party’s convention at the Royal St.Kitts Hotel on July 11th at 11 am.
