‘Expelled’ dance party rocked Bird Rock Beach Hotel

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A large crowd turned out Saturday night (June 12) at Bird Rock Beach Hotel for the a dance party dubbed ‘Expelled’, and it was no behaviour on the dance floor by some persons, which was in keeping with a poster that read “No Intelligence Allowed”.

The event was organised by Link A Link and Regal Promotions.

SKNVibes PEP arrived at the venue at approximately 1:00 a.m. and observed many patrons already ‘getting down’ and ‘dirty’ on the dance floor while some were seen sipping on their drinks and others seated.

The party featured a dress code, and one patron said they were asked to be “rebelliously attired”. This was evident, for many females were rebelling in their miniskirts and short dresses ready to be expelled, while a few males tried to pull off some rebellious looks in their garments.

Dancehall music by the Evolution Family, Chalice Sound and more rocked the venue until 3:00 a.m. when the Nu Vibes Band took over.

The band got warmed up and by 4:00 a.m. the venue was in frenzy, as the Nu Vibes ‘turned up de session’ with both old and new hits.

One young lady said, “I am getting expelled tonight because with Nu Vibes Band me ain got no behaviour.” While another added, “I will be sleeping on the dance floor tonight because I am having such a good time and I don’t want to leave.”

A young man, who seemed intoxicated, said, “Link A Link parties them are the best, I can’t afford to miss none. I thought ‘Drink To Amnesia’ was bad but this one sell off…”

Drink To Amnesia was the last event organised by the two promoters. It was held sometime in April.

SKNVibes PEP left the party some minutes to 5:00 a.m. and the band was still playing to a packed venue.
