BASSETERRE, St. Kittsn - US R&B singer Chris Brown was recently denied entry into the United Kingdom (UK) because of his criminal record, and it has caused his tour to be cancelled.

Brown was scheduled to perform in London, Manchester, Birmingham and the Scottish city of Glasgow, but the British government's Home Office said he had been refused a visa because of his criminal record.

Last year Brown was sentenced to five years' probation and six months of community service for beating his then-girlfriend, R&B Barbadian singing sensation Rihanna.

Chris Brown is known as a triple threat in the entertainment industry, as he is a singer, songwriter and actor. He was discovered at 15 years-old by Tina Davis, who was working for Def Jam Recordings at the time. His first album was released in November 2005.

Brown is known for his superb dance moves hits such as ‘Run It’, ‘No Air’ with Jordon Sparks, ‘Crawl’, ‘Gimme That’ and ‘Wall To Wall’.

He once performed in St. Kitts at the island’s annual Music Festival.
