BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Music Festival fever is definitely in the air and some of the artistes have already arrived on the island and were present at a press conference this morning (Jun. 24) at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.

Also present was the Minister of Culture and Tourism Richard ‘Ricky’ Skerritt, who welcomed and thanked everyone for being there. He said one of the key aspects is to use the festival to promote the destination and create some excitement.

Skerritt said they are happy to present another wonderful event and that they have great things in store for the public, starting tonight.

The artistes introduced themselves and among them were the legendary King Ellie Matt, King Star Shield, three members of the Third World Band, Bunji Garlin, two members of the Grand Masters Band and the prophet, Capleton.

Bunji Garlin said he feels very privilege to be a part of tonight’s cast and feels honored to be here with his entire band, as he was here in 2003 but not with his band.

The Grand Masters’ representatives said they would definitely bring that Kittitian flavor the people want and that they would have new music for their fans.

Members of the Third World Band promised a great show and are encouraging patrons to go out early and not miss their performance, as they are the first act for tonight.  The group is currently celebrating 35 years together in the entertainment business.

The 14th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival takes place at the Warner Park Football Stadium from tonight (Jun. 24) to Saturday, June 26.

Tonight will see the artistes in the following order: Third World Band, Grand Masters Band, King Starsheild, King Ellie Matt, Bunji Garlin and Faye-Ann Lyons, and Capleton.

On Friday night, Fethi Tabet, Kymani Marley, Jah Fire, SMI, US rapper Fabolous and Tarrus Riley will all take the stage in that order, while Stevy Mahy, Peper Ranks, C-Money, Rolhensha, Infamus, Baby Face and Sizzla will bring the curtains down on the Saturday night’s show.
