Faulkner Williams appointed Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner

    B.V.I. - Mrs. Faulkner-Williams whose appointment became effective on April 4, holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and International Development Studies and a Masters Certificate in Human Resources Management from the St. Mary’s University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. - His Excellency the Governor David Pearey, after consultation with the Public Service Commission (PSC), has approved the appointment of Mrs. Stephanie Faulkner-Williams to the post of Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner.

     

    Her experience includes Personal Assistant to the Senior Resident Judge, BVI Government; Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director, Financial Services Commission; Part-time Secretary, Harney Westwood and Riegels; Student Caller Representative, Saint Mary’s University Alumni Development Centre; Management Trainee Rosewood, Little Dix Bay, Virgin Gorda.

     

    As Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner, Mrs. Faulkner Williams is responsible for managing the daily operations of each unit within the department; recruiting and screening applicants to fill vacancies; conferring with unit officers on matters such as placement problems, retention or release of probationary employees, dismissals of Virgin Islanders, and work permit issues; participating in overall planning and policy making to provide effective and uniform services to internal and external customers; and coordinating annual outreach programmes to aid in the recruitment of school-leavers.
