B.V.I. Tuesday, June 29 - The show will be held in memory of local Virgin Islands artist the late Watts Pemberton and will exhibit artwork from 16 Virgin Islanders who have contributed to the show since its inception in 2004. Music of Virgin Islands artists will also serve as entertainment for the evening’s celebration while books by local authors will be on display. – As part of Territory Day celebrations, the BVI London Office will host its annual Art and Culture Show and Territory Day reception on Thursday, July 1 at 6 pm at the BVI House.

Director of the BVI London Office Mr. Kedrick Malone said, “This year’s event will feature a wider range of BVI talents and activities, including writers and musicians. BVI House will also welcome the celebrated quadriplegic sailor Geoff Holt and launch our partnership with the 2012 BVI Olympic Committee.”

A silent auction featuring BVI art and holiday packages from Bitter End Yacht Club, The Moorings, Dive BVI, Rosewood Little Dix Bay, among others, will be one of the highlights of the evening.

The proceeds from the auction will benefit the BVI Services, a unit under the Department of Social Development, which provides training and employment opportunities for physically and mentally challenged individuals.

In the spring of 2004, the BVI London Office launched a series of exhibitions to showcase the talents of BVI artists whose techniques and styles are as varied as the 60 islands which comprise the Territory.
