BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force continues to reap success in relation to the removal of illegal firearms from the streets, with the most recent taking place a couple of days ago.
The force’s Press and Public Relations Office issued a communiqué yesterday (Jul. 7) which explained that on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 officers recovered a .38 revolver from the Newtown area.
“At approximately 10:00 p.m. while the police were conducting a routine patrol in the Neverson Street, Newtown area they recovered one (1) .38 revolver. The illegal firearm was taken into police custody for further process and analysis.”
The release further informs that no one has been held answerable for the offence and the authorities are making the necessary investigations.
This find inched the number of firearms seized for the year to 29.
