Elizabeth Pemberton gets cause to rejoice

Young Silvera starred for the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary
By: Curtis Morton

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, July 9, 2010 (Press Release) - A small but vociferous crowd was on hand yesterday afternoon to witness the only match of the day in the TDC Primary school cricket league being played at Grove Park.

The Ivor Walters Primary batted first versus the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary and could only manage 55 for 7 from 10 overs. Malcolm top scored with 9 and Taj Wharton got 7.  R. Balgobin was the main destroyer with his right arm wrist spinners with 4 for 7 from 2 overs.

Urged on by a very noisy dug out, the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary interspersed quickly run singles with the occasional boundaries and finally secured victory with a total of 58 for 5 from just 6 overs.

    V. Arthurton got 14 and little Silvera excited the crowd with 13 not out which included three well struck boundaries.  Taj Wharton threatened to upset the apple cart with his 4 wickets for 12 runs but his efforts were not enough.

Elizabeth Pemberton won with 5 wickets in hand and all of four overs remaining.
