Born charming and charismatic, She is a strong black Nevisian beauty.
Te-Shell started her education at the Shining Star Pre-school then went on to the St James Primary school. Her primary education led her to the Gingerland Secondary School where she graduated in 2008 with passes in the following areas; English A, Office Procedures, Agricultural Science and Social Studies. With these passes she subsequently chose Receptionist as her line of employment. This allowed her the opportunity to work from 2008 – 2009 at the Brown Hill Communications.
Modeling is her heart and soul, this is why she would like to become a professional model. Since one cannot be a model forever, her love for animals has also directed her to a future career as a veterinarian.
She has always liked the stage from a very tender age. This gave her the opportunity to be one of the contestants in the first ever Miss Petite show held in Nevis (1999). Here she captured the title of Miss Photogenic and the 1st runner up position.
Since it is said that all work and no play makes one dull, in her spare time she keeps herself relaxed, fit and well toned in sports such as netball, tennis, cricket and swimming.
For a look at a more serious side of Te-shell she would say her number 1 personal likes and dislikes are honesty and lies respectively. She feels that one should always be honest especially to ones self as this helps to determine where he or she reaches.
One may ask, why did she decide to enter the Miss Culture Pageant? and her response would be “It is time for the public to get a fair and direct look at the beautiful and talented Te-Shell Sutton."
As black people we tend to belittle ourselves, we are afraid to showcase our abilities; this is why Barack Obama is my personal hero. He, like Martin Luther King Jr. believed that one day an African American would be president of the United States of America. It is because of this belief that it has come to past.
Finally, there are many influential black women dead and alive and in keeping with our theme for this year’s Miss Culture Pageant “I am Woman” she has chosen Cicely Tyson as a strong black woman who has inspired her. Though she came from humble beginnings she did not let this get in the way of pursuing her dreams of becoming a model and world renowned actress.
It is with pleasure that Te-Shell submits her profile as she is honoured and grateful for the opportunity to become an ambassador of her beautiful Island queen – Nevis.
