BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IT was close to 7:00 a.m. and people were still having a great time when SKNVibes left the newly-improved Club NV at Canada Estate where the sold out Triple S Birthday Bash was staged.
Local DJ and radio personality Triple S (Sweet Sister Sensia) held her fifth annual Birthday Bash last night (Jul. 24) under a theme that encouraged hundreds of ladies to rock their tights.
Music was provided by DJ Yardy, Guinness Evolution, TNO Sounds, DJ Dads, Nu Vybes International and also by the hostess.
In a previous interview, Triple S told SKNVibes that the theme was primarily focused on the ladies.
“I thought about the ladies and what makes a woman feel comfortable, and I realised when I feel most comfortable and sexy is when I am wearing a sexy tights. So, I figured why not be creative with it, make it a rock your tights party and let the ladies be creative with their tights,” she stated.
The party also awarded several prizes; a raffle of a brand new Blackberry cellular phone was won by ‘Mally’, the lucky ticket stub holder - compliments of LIME.
The lady who rocked the sexiest tights was Bevelle John, who won a dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf, while Shana Jeffers won herself a gift voucher from Plus Accessories for ‘rocking’ the shortest tights.
In the early stage of the party top, local artiste Infamus serenaded the hostess with one of his new unreleased tracks and followed up with the birthday song.
Around 2:00 a.m., the Nu Vybes Band began playing and started off with an old time hit - ‘Crazy Love’. The band also played some groovy Soca before hyping up the venue with ‘wilders’ until close to 5:00 a.m.
The club certainly underwent much improvement in terms of the inside décor, and now with a larger air condition unit which kept the inside much cooler than previous times, it was packed to capacity and patrons found some difficulty in moving freely.
A tent that covered the outside of the club also had a large amount of persons while a variety of tasty finger foods were available free of charge to patrons.
Following the performance of the Nu Vybes Band, DJ Dads, DJ Yardy and Sensia hyped it up on the inside with the latest in Dancehall and Hip-Hop music.
The DJs interacted with the audience, especially the ladies who were not afraid to show their hands and ‘walk out’ upon the DJs command.
One of the tunes that also made the ladies went ‘crazy was ‘Backshot’ by Lady Saw, which saw the ladies, specifically those at the front of the club, bending over and gyrating as well as singing the song out loud.
Speaking with SKNVibes, Triple, S who rocked black tights that had a unique cutout design on the back along with a red top, said that she felt great about the turnout.
“Everyone seems to be having fun and enjoying themselves,” she said.
The popular radio personality seemed to have enjoyed herself as well, as she posed for photos with her fans and laughed and joked with her trendsetter ladies.
The month of July seems to also be a bitter-sweet month for her, as not only does she celebrate her birthday on July 22, but on July 7 she remembered when she lost her best friend ‘Big P’, who died on that day in 2008.
In remembrance of him, each year at her party she would place his picture on a banner, This year the banner featuring his photo was placed near the entrance of the club.
