It was November the 3rd 1988, a day when both Peter and Pauline Ngunjiri welcomed their beautiful gem. She is the vibrant 21 yr old Ms Mary Wangui Ngunjiri, a customer service representative currently employed at the St Kitts Nevis and Anguilla National Bank LTD. Born in Nairobi Kenya, the beautiful island of Nevis has been a place she has called home for the past 12 yrs, and she currently resides at Cherry Garden St. John’s Parish.
Attended various primary schools in the federation, she graduated from the Charlestown primary school and continued her studies at the Charlestown Secondary School and Sixth Form College. Successfully completing both 5th and 6th forms, she attained 8 CXC passes with 5 distinctions in various subjects as well as 8 CAPE subject passes respectively, enabling her to receive an associate’s degree in business studies.
During Leisure time, she enjoys spending time with friends, listening to music, reading, surfing the net, and keeping fit. Her participation in the RBTT sponsored youth program the Young Leaders, as well as the Literary and Debating Society played a key role in the development of her social skills. Working in the financial industry has pushed her enthusiasm to one day obtain a degree in finance, with special interest in Financial Planning.
She is thrilled to be a part on Nevisian culture and proud to be a participant in this year’s Ms Culture 2010 as it focuses on the theme "I am Woman". Her past experiences have enabled her to understand the importance of female empowerment, and she strongly believes that women need to be more open about issues affecting them. Winning this pageant would enable her to be a positive role model and advocate for young ladies who wish to achieve their dreams and aspirations despite their circumstances.
