BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are on the hunt for a young man who had escaped lawful custody and is considered armed and dangerous.
A wanted bulletin, issued today (Jul. 29), states that police are searching for Kennedy ‘Ken’ Isles-Powell, whose last place of abode was given as Taylors Housing Project.
Reports reaching SKNVibes indicate that while a football game was being played at the Newtown playfield on Saturday, July 4, 2010, two plainclothes police officers, spectators of the game, received information that one of the players had a firearm in his possession.
According to the reports, Isles-Powell was the suspect, and on completion of the game the officers approached him in an attempt to conduct a search of his person. However, one of the officers drew his service pistol and the suspect reached to his side and pulled out a firearm.
Isles-Powell then threw the firearm over the fence and started running with one of the officers hot in pursuit. However, the officer was no match for the fleet-footed footballer and he made good his escape.
A search of the area in which Isles-Powell threw the firearm revealed that it was a .38 Taurus revolver with four matching rounds.
The bulletin informs that Kennedy ‘Ken’ Isles-Powell is 5’9” tall, dark complexioned with black hair and is considered armed and dangerous.
