CaribWorldNews, LOS ANGELES, CA, Weds. July 28, 2010: Grammy-Award-winning singer, Rihanna, is set to make her acting debut in a movie to be released in 2012.

Rihanna, 22, is set to make her big screen debut in the Peter Berg film, Battleship, an adaptation of the board game by the same name.

`Friday Night Lights`` Taylor Kitsch, who stars in the upcoming `John Carter of Mars,` is already on board as a Naval officer leading the charge against the unexpected invasion by sea. So is `True Blood`s` popular Alexander Skarsgard, who plays Kitsch`s brother.  No word on who Rihanna will play in the film, but could it be Kitsch`s love interest?

`Battleship` is expected to begin shooting this summer for a May 25, 2012 release.
