BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – DESPITE their valiant effort, medical practitioners at the JNF Hospital failed to save the life of Alonzo ‘Capone’ Herbert who was shot last night in McKnight.
Information reaching SKNVibes states that shortly after 12:00 this morning (Aug. 3) Herbert succumbed to his injuries, but it is not known if he died while undergoing surgery.
According to earlier reports, at about 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 2, an unidentified man or men fired a number of shots at Herbert while he was at the junction of Thibou Avenue and Fort Thomas Road.
One of the bullets struck him on his leg and another in his back.
On arrival at the scene, it was observed that a number of spent shells were collected by the investigating officers.
A source close to the police said that no one has yet been held in connection with the incident but investigations are ongoing.
Alonzo 'Capone' Herbert's death has taken to 18 the total homicides committed in the twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis for 2010.
