KINGSTON, Jamaica – TELECOMMUNICATIONS giant, LIME, has officially announced the appointment of Dr. David McBean as the Managing Director of LIME Customer Solutions.
To take effect from September 8, 2010, McBean, according to a LIME press release, “will lead the LIME’s Product Management team and will be accountable for Product Strategy, Product Planning and Management and our Regional delivery of Customer/Product Solutions.”
He, the press release continued, “and the Product Management team will work in collaboration with the Business Units and Customer Segments, Marketing and the Project Office in the design, delivery and lifecycle management of products and solutions for our customers.”
The communiqué also informs that the Managing Director is currently employed as Chief Executive Officer of the CVM Group of Companies and has “held senior positions” at Cable & Wireless Jamaica, Cable & Wireless Latin America and Air Jamaica.
The husband and father of two – who “has some 15 years experience in Media Management, Telecommunications and Information Technology” – will be based in Barbados and will be responsible for reporting directly to Chief Commercial Officer, Milton Brady.
“David studied Engineering at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine on a Jamaica Independence Scholarship, gaining a B.Sc.in Electrical & Computer Engineering (First Class Hons). He then went on to the University of Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship where he completed a D. Phil. in Engineering Science.”
He also “serves on several company boards and charities in Jamaica” and “he plays squash and table-tennis competitively at the club level”.
