    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 7TH 2006 -
    The St. Kitts-based Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) is hosting a two-week Commonwealth Secretariat Debt Recording and Management System (CS-DRMS) 2000+ Regional Workshop from June 7th.
    The workshop will give debt managers from the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Guyana and the OECS member territories an opportunity to upgrade their skills in public sector debt management.
     
    The ECCB said the workshop is also geared towards upgrading analytical and decision-making skills and broadening the knowledge base of personnel employed in the area of public sector debt management in the CARICOM member states. 
     
    Participants are expected to benefit from a range of topics being presented including, Understanding Loan Cycle and Debt Office Functions; Debt Data Processing and Aggregation; Recording Loans and Debt Transactions; Recording Multi-tranche and Multi-currency loans; Debt Data Validation; Recording Restructured Instruments and Reporting Module in the CS-DRMS Application.
     
    The ECCB said the CS-DRMS workshop forms part of the collaborative efforts of the ECCB and the London-based Commonwealth Secretariat to strengthen the debt management capacity in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union and the wider CARICOM region.
