CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, August 12, 2010 - Dillon Claxton is dead. The brave, former under-15 cricketer for Nevis, passed away sometime last evening at the Alexandra Hospital.

Dillon recently returned home from Puerto Rico where he was convalescing for several months and was warded at the Alexandra Hospital. Family sources had indicated that he was in need of rest and would not be able to see too many visitors.

During his illness, Dillon made significant donations to his schools, the Gingerland Secondary School and to the Vern ‘N’ Llew Pre-School. He continually demonstrated a kind heart and a general attitude of caring for others.

Significantly, earlier that same day, National Coach Stuart Williams took a group of under-13 cricketers to visit with him at the hospital and indicated that although there was no verbal communication between the players and the ailing young man, the young cricketers were obviously emotionally affected.

President of the Nevis Cricket Association Ronald Powell earlier today expressed condolences to his dad and his mom — Steve and Laurel Claxton - and to the entire grieving family, on behalf of the Nevis Crciket Association.
