Stuart Williams continues to give back

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, August 12, 2010 - “It’s all about giving back”. This statement was made yesterday by Nevis’ National Coach Stuart Williams during an interview with NTV channel 8 sportscast.

He was referring to the fact that he has decided to sponsor the Nevis under-13 cricket team in the annual St.Kitts-Nevis under 13 regional tournament which bowls off on the 21st of August.

Williams noted that for the past few years he would have observed that most of the other teams come to the tournament smartly attired in impressive uniforms and the Nevis team somehow did not compete too well in this regard. He strongly feels that this would have affected the players negatively and has decided to make a difference this year.
His sponsorship amounts to quite a handsome sum as it caters for two full playing outfits for 16 players and two sets of caps for 16 players.

Williams was quick to point out that he was helped by the Nevisian community on his way to success as a West Indies player and he will always give back to the community when he can.

Last year, Williams singlehandedly organized and sponsored the first ever local Masters’ cricket tournament and was a major influence in Nevis winning the Leeward Islands Masters’ tournament that year.

Like Carl Tuckett, Williams is confident that the Nevis under-13 team will give a very good account of itself in the upcoming tournament.
