Basseterre, St. Kitts - As Show #7 of the TDC – Carib Brewery St. Kitts Karaoke Idol rolls in this coming Thursday, August 12th, at the Marriott Ballroom, the nine (9) remaining Challengers will vie for a spot in the Top Six. Making the Top Six, is in of itself, a great feat, as the Top Six will be representing St. Kitts in the Nevis versus St. Kitts Karaoke Sing Off, scheduled to commence next month.
The nine (9) Singers remaining are:
Skeffington Fagan, Dominic Matthew, Leonard Browne, Neville Joseph, Angel “A” Bryant, Mellissa Thomas, Curdell Mills, Shaira Francis, and Kenecia Byron.
On Thursday’s Show, each Singer will perform three (3) Songs. The first will be a selection chosen from their suggested list given to the Management Team. The second will be a Theme song given to the Singers by the Committee. For example, in Show #5, the Theme was R & B, and OOOOH... did the audience have a ball at Show #6, when the theme was Disco. Imagine Songs from the Bee Gees, Kool & the Gang, Gloria Gaynor, Sister Sledge, The Village People, etc. Man! You should have seen the twelve (12) Singers dressed up in 6-inch block heels, shiny polyester outfits, and their AFROS.
The Kittitian Idols were also impressed when two of the Nevisian Top Six bomb-shelled the Show with Vocals, Gimmicks, and Theatrics.
WARNING! This week’s Theme is Da BOMB. The third song will be what all of the Idols dread, the ABOMINABLE MATRIX. Here, each singer stands up front and chooses from a 15-Square Grid and s/he may end up singing a song from 1948, a song from Led Zeppelin or Steppenwolf, or we may have a Christian singing Roll It Gyal from Allison Hinds. This is Real Karaoke Now. Each Singer will have absolutely no idea whether s/he will get a Karaoke Angel or a Karaoke Whammy. If one gets a Whammy, the devilish MC chooses a song for him/her from deep, deep, down in his repertoire. Hmmm, how exciting! See you there. Admission is EC $10.
