BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 7TH 2006 - St. Kitts and Nevis' Minister of State for Tourism, Sen. the Hon. Richard "Ricky" Skerritt will be among Caribbean tourism ministers traveling to New York City for Caribbean Week 2006.

The June 10th to 17th event, includes interaction with their New York-based constituents during Town Hall Meetings coordinated by the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO).
Organisers say the Town Hall Meetings will take place on Monday, June 12th at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn in conjunction with the Dubois-Bunche Center for Public Policy at Medgar Evers College, and at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in the Bronx.

Additionally, the respective borough presidents have been invited to participate in these unique community forums, which will take place simultaneously on Monday June 12th.

"These meetings present a rare opportunity for visiting Caribbean tourism ministers and officials to share information and exchange ideas with Caribbean nationals in the New York area who are passionate about their countries of origin and eager to play a part in the further development of the region," said CTO's New York-based Director of Marketing for the Americas, Hugh Riley. He added that the Bronx and Brooklyn are home to large numbers of Caribbean nationals, making these venues convenient locations for the meetings.
In the Bronx, participants will meet at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with St. Kitts and Nevis' Minister of State for Tourism, Sen. the Hon. Richard "Ricky" Skerritt; Antigua and Barbuda's Minister of Tourism, Hon. Harold E. Lovell and Jamaica's Tourism Minister, Hon. Aloun N'Dombet Assamba.
The moderator for this session will be the Co-founder and Managing Director of Caribbean Immigration Services, Inc. (CIS), Irwine G. Clare.
In Brooklyn, attendees will meet at Medgar Evers College where Grenada's Minister of Tourism, Hon. Brenda Hood, along with Guyana's Tourism Minister, Hon. Manzoor Nadir; Trinidad and Tobago's Minister of Tourism, Sen. the Hon. Howard Chin Lee will be on-hand to discuss the state of Caribbean tourism. This forum will be moderated by veteran broadcaster, Donn Bobb.

It is expected that the Town Hall Meetings will comprise a cross-section of Caribbean nationals and friends of the Caribbean. The meetings cover all aspects of Caribbean tourism and attract a wide audience, including young adults interested in pursuing a career in the tourism industry, persons seeking investment opportunities, potential vacationers in search of the latest destination information, and Caribbean nationals who simply want to keep in touch.
