BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE young man who was shot early this morning (Aug. 16) in Newtown died this afternoon at the JNF Hospital.
Police confirmed that Javed ‘Fathead’ Johnson (29) of East Street, Newtown died at approximately 6:10 this evening.
Reports reaching SKNVibes earlier today indicated that Johnson was shot to the back of his neck sometime after mid-night in the vicinity of Mad House Alley. He was taken to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and was said to have been in critical condition.
Johnson was also reportedly paralysed on the left side of his body.
When contacted, the police did not provide much information on the circumstances surrounding the incident; they however informed that no suspect was in custody but investigations were ongoing.
The police are asking anyone who might have information relative to the incident to contact the Criminal Investigation Department at 465-2241 ext. 220, 230 or 231. Any information given will be treated with the strictest confidence and can be divulged on condition of anonymity.
Javed ‘Fathead’ Johnson’s death has taken to 19 the total homicides committed in the twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis for 2010.
