Closing ceremony set for Thursday

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, August 24, 2010 (Press Release) - President of the Nevis Cricket Association Ronald Powell yesterday revealed that the much anticipated closing and prize giving ceremony for the 2010 female cricket league will be held this coming Thursday 26th August. 

     

    The ceremony will be held at the Elquemedo Willet Park at 6:00 p.m.

     

    All teams are invited to be a part of this ceremony and are kindly asked to assemble at the Park in their respective team uniforms.

     

    Monetary prizes, trophies and medals will be handed out to the deserving teams and outstanding players in the league.

     

    Meanwhile Powell further indicated that the proposed tour of a Nevis female team to St. Maarten later this year, is still on and stated that he is in the final phase of discussions in order to finalize the trip with certain individuals in St. Maarten. 

     

    He further noted that a 14 member squad will be selected shortly and put into training under Coach Wendell Wallace.

     

    He is also sending an urgent call to all female cricketers interested in being considered for selection to a Leeward Islands female hard ball team to immediately indicate their interest with members of the Nevis Cricket Association as those individuals will be placed into specialized training as soon as possible.
