    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, August 26, 2010 (Press Release) - MVP of the 2009 Female cricket league on Nevis, Ruby Chapman of the Highlights Int team, is again the ultimate star of the 2010 season.  Previously released statistics revealed that Ruby Chapman was the highest runs scorer again for the league with 298 runs but chief scorer Reuben Housen has also revealed that she mot only topped the batting aggregate but also the batting averages as well.

     

    Chapman completed the season with total of 298 from 10 innings with all of 7 not outs and topped the averages as well with an impressive 99.33.

     

    To demonstrate her absolute dominance, the next best three placers in terms of the averages were: Catherine Joseph with 138 runs from 6 innings with 3 not outs, with an average of 46.00; Curleanne Parris with 199 runs from 8 innings with 3 not outs and an average of 39.60; Rozel Liburd with 204 runs from 10 innings with 3 not outs and an average of 29.14.

     

    The top three bowlers in terms of wickets were Chaliese Browne of Super Rockers with 15, Malva Rawlins with 14 and Leslie Berkley with 11.

     

    However the top three bowlers in terms of averages were Leslie Berkley with 11 wickets for 84 runs at an average of 7.63, Idella Pemberton with 9 wickets for 69 runs at an average of 7.68, and Malva Rawlins with 14 wickets for 122 runs at an average of 8.71.

     

    The closing and prize giving ceremony will be held this evening at the Elquemedo Willet Park, commencing at 6:00 p.m. All teams are invited to be present in their uniforms.
