BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – MARION HALL, popularly known to dancehall lovers as Lady Saw, is back once again to stir up some excitement in the music industry with her soon to be released album ‘My Way’.
Set for a September 7 release, the album features collaborations with rapper Eve, Ding Dong, Lloyd ‘John John’ James and Stephen McGregor, among others.
In a press release by Saw’s Management team, the dancehall veteran was quoted as saying, “I wanted to have the independence and freedom to do things 100 percent my way. I can tell the producers what I want for my riddim and say what I want to say in my songs. No one is telling me what I can or can’t do on this album.”
SKNVibes PEP learned that there are 15 tracks on the album and ‘Party Til December’ is being promoted as the leading single. A video for this single will be released shortly.
In the intro of the raunchy single, which definitely makes listeners curious, Lady Saw sings, “I work too hard to be staying at home, I ain’t no babysitter, I ain’t no furniture; am going to get my car and my money and am going out.”
With 15 years in the business and nine albums under her belt, Lady Saw is known primarily as the ‘First Lady of Dancehall’. She is the first female deejay to win a Grammy Award and to be certified a triple-platinum artiste. She is also the first woman to headline dancehall shows outside her native Jamaica.
Despite the three-year gap since her last album (‘Walk Out’) was released, the hit maker still managed to continue headlining shows worldwide.
Some of her past hits which created buzz in the music industry with their tongue-lashing lyrics include ‘I’ve Got Your Man’, ‘Chat To Mi Back’, ‘Beg You’ and ‘No Less Than A Woman’.
