BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 10TH 2006 - St. Kitts' Financial Services Department takes its promotion and marketing to Switzerland next week.
St. Kitts and Nevis' Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is leading a delegation to Zurich, in an effort to boost the financial services sector, regarded as one of the major pillars of the new economy.
Prime Minister Douglas will address 150 top bankers, accountants, lawyers and representatives of financial services representatives during a Business Forum at the Marriott Zurich Hotel on Tuesday 13th June 2006.
Dr. Douglas is accompanied by Director of Marketing and Development, Ms.
Shawna Lake, who is to give an overview of the St. Kitts Financial Services and London-based International Ship Registrar, Mr. Nigel Smith, who will speak on the International Ship Registry Services.

Ms. Thomas said during the Business Forum a presentation will be made to the Jeeves Group for outstanding service in the formation of St. Kitts Foundations.
Ms. Lake said recently that St. Kitts is making steady progress in the financial services sector and has been developing new products, doing more market research and marketing since Federation's removal from the OECD and the FATF blacklists.
She said since the introduction of the St. Kitts International Ship registry in 2004, over 150 ships have been registered.
The St. Kitts International Financial Services has offers a range of enabling legislation and competent service providers that facilitate any investment need in the market.
Ms. Lake recently told the Communications Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister that St. Kitts has begun to reap the benefits of the Foundation Act, passed by the National Assembly in 2003.
She said since registration began in late 2004 and there are currently 153 foundations listed in the registry.
