BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Police are looking for an individual who may have been involved in a firearm-related incident which took place over the weekend.
Information received by Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Crime (ACP Crime) Joseph Liburd, indicates that what began as a routine patrol Friday night, ended with the discovery and seizure of a Glock firearm.
“At about 8pm on 3/9/10 the police of Cayon District were conducting routine patrols in the Cabbage Tree Housing area at Cayon and a suspicious looking young man was being approached by the police, he ran away and dropped a glock 9mm pistol in the process,” Liburd informed.
He said the firearm was taken into police custody and one suspect is being sought in relation to the incident.
He further explained that this seizure brings to 34 the number of firearms to be removed from the streets of the Federation since the commencement of the year.
