By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Just three days after members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force removed a firearm from the streets of the Federation, they have achieved additional success in the removal of another.

A communiqué issued by the Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Zenhastel Hector, informs that the firearm was discovered by members of the Anti Gang Unit.

“On 6th September 2010 at about 5:30pm Police Officers of the Anti Gang Unit conducted an operation in the Irish Town area. One tech. 9mm pistol with 21 rounds of 9mm ammunition was found in the yard of an abandoned building and taken into Police custody.”

The release informs, however, that the perpetrator(s) has yet to be brought to justice.

Members of the public who may have information about this find are asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 465-2241 extension 230. Persons are reminded that information can be given anonymously and that the rule of confidentiality would apply.
