Basseterre, St. Kitts (June 14, 2006): The Embassy of Cuba announces the availability of scholarships for the 2006- 2007 school year as part of its collaboration with the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The embassy informed SKNIS of scholarships in the fields of mechanical engineering; industrial engineering; sociology; scientific and technical information; sports, physical education and recreation; automation engineering and architecture.
~~Adz:Right~~Applicants must be under the age of 25 to be eligible for university courses and under the age of 17 for middle level technical courses.
Applicants for degrees must have a high school certificate whereas the middle level technical courses require a third form education.
The target group for these courses are youth from low income families.
Other requirements include HIV/AIDS testing; and pregnancy testing in which case positive results would negate acceptance in the programme.
Students applying for dance, music, performing arts and related fields, will be required to take an arts proficiency test upon arrival at the Center.
Interested persons should contact the Cuban Embassy no later than Thursday June 16, 2006.
