By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO young females are currently creating a buzz on the local music scene with their latest track ‘Beat Pon Me Drum’ which can be heard blowing up the local airwaves and pumping around the island.

Shanna ‘Kandie’ Tatem and Jascur ‘Babby’ Hobson who make up the duo ‘Dymanyzd’ told SKNVibes that, they have known each other since their days at school and just happened to be in the same place at the right time when the decision was made to establish a group.

According to the duo, they have been together for six years but were at a standstill after their first song ‘Bad Boys’ a hip-hop . However, being as multitalented artistes that they are; they regrouped and returned with a bang singing dancehall with a touch of R&B and with the intention of being recognized for their musical strengths.

The group explained that  their first come back track titled ‘911’ was not released due to the fact that, the  image portrayed was not consistent with that which was intended for the public as the song contained some harsh hardcore lyrics. They then opted for a track titled ‘Phone Again’.

The two young females agreed that this song definitely gripped the publics’ attention as many females can relate to the message which it conveys. The song which is on the ‘Evil Walk Riddim’ speaks to men who are always on their cell phones. It carries the chorus “See you dey,  dey pon you phone again, some gal name Jenny say a just you friend. See you dey dey pon you phone again, 12 o clock a night tell me who calling.”

Their second single ‘Beat Pon me Drum’ has been also attracting a lot of attention and is well talked about. It is featured as part of the ‘Evil Walk’ medley video which was produced by Tru Capo.  Babby and Kandie said, “People really love this one; people would see us around town and just start to sing it.”

When asked what was next in store for the duo who hail from Newtown they said, just more music. “We are not working on an album or anything but we will keep the singles coming” said Kandie.

Two upcoming singles to look out for are ‘Heart On The Floor’ and ‘Be Alright’ and Dymanyzd are also set to perform later this month at an Independence Concert being held at Bird Rock Basketball Court and ‘Ali’s 21 Diamonds and Pearls Birthday Bash’
