Beaumont Park comes alive this Sunday with horse race and entertainment

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – EXCITMENT heats up this Sunday (September 19) for an Independence Day  celebration at Beaumont Park with a total of EC$78,000 dollars  in prizes at stake in six different races.

     

    Hoses from the federation will go head to head with horses from Antigua in what is a highly anticipated fierce battle in the first three races worth EC$6,000 each and the final three races  EC$20,000 each.

     

    In a press conference held yesterday morning (September 15) at Beaumont Park the gate number for the prospective horses were pulled from the ‘Pill Box’ by members of the media. 

     

    Present at the head table were: Richard Cummings the General Manager of Beaumont Park, Director of Racing Gary Smith, Jeff Jacobs who is an Antiguan Jockey, Neyo Cochran, Mike Simple a St. Kitts Jockey and Sharez Laws Marketing Manager of Digicel.

     

    Both Jacobs and Cochran expressed their pleasure in returning to the island and expressed confidence that Sunday’s event will be a fantastic one. They also shared some sarcasm while saying, “This Sunday will be no easy walk like in January”.

     

    Laws also expressed how pleased Digicel is to be a part of this independence celebration at Beaumont Park.

     

    “We here at the bigger better network like to give back to our customers and this Sunday there will be credit give-a-ways as well as treasure hunts between the breaks” Laws added.

     

    After the races the excitement continues as St. Kitts meets Antigua once again but this time in entertainment when   Antigua 2010 Groovy Monarch winner Claudette Peters and two times Party Monarch Tian Winter along with Red Hot Flames will perform live.  They will be joined by St. Kitts  four peat king, King Konris, C-Money, Infamus, Rolhensha, the Nu Vybes Band International and Magic Fingers Ronnie Rascal.

     

    Tian Winter was also present at the conference and gave a teaser of his performance and expressed his excitement in celebrating independence with the nation.  He is known by his popular hit ‘Sugar Sweet’.

     

    The gates open at 1:00pm and adults pay only $10 while children enter free.
