HER PHILOSOPHY:
The essence of Tasanna Kelly is embodied in the quote, “Life is like a coin, you can spend it anyway you chose, but, you can only spend it once.” For Tasanna, this making of wise choices and maximizing every opportunity afforded to her, has been her hallmark of excellence.
HER ROOTS:
Tasanna is your everyday fun-loving individual who enjoys a good laugh. As resident of Boyd’s Village, her academic development was first shaped at the Bronte Welsh Primary School. Later, she attended the Verchilds High school and attained Eight (8) CXC General Subject passes with three (3) Distinctions. Having earned her way into the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College and the health Science Program she completed courses towards an Associate’s Degree in Health Sciences. Her achievements in her own words are attributable to her strong family support, good decision making and the never ending guidance of her teachers.
HER PROFESSION:
A teacher for 3 years at the Irish Town Primary School, this 23 year old young leader promotes “Self Expression” in her classroom as a technique in assisting her students learn to effectively communicate with others. While there are those within the Teaching Profession who operate at less than acceptable standards, Tasanna aspires to be a “Great Teacher” who inspires others to action, creativity and innovation. For Tasanna, teaching has given her a sense of self-worth and the confidence to believe in her abilities to continue in this career.
HER INTERESTS:
As a believer in the freedom of expressing oneself, it’s no wonder Tasanna is a lover of the Performing Arts. As a member of the St. Christopher Choral Society, National Independence Mass Choir and Youth Exploring Talent Theater (Moses Byron Productions) her skills in writing, dramatizing and singing often take centre stage. Tasanna sees life as an enormous adventure that is filled with mystery and discovery, hence, her community participation comes through JCI-St. Kitts (Jaycees) and the St. Kitts Hash House Harriers (HHH).
HER PLATFORM (USING LANGUAGES):
In today’s Global Community a very important tool of survival is ones ability to communicate using various languages. Language is the foundation of all forms of communication. Language has evolved tremendously over the centuries, from hieroglyphics and writing, to Modern Languages and today’s frenzy of texting/BBing via cellular phones and the Internet. The countries of the world are more closely connected than ever before, hence, encouraging the use of Modern Language will allow Kittitians and Nevisians the opportunity to discover new ideas, challenge their abilities to accomplishment, thereby attaining a sense of empowerment while building stronger alliances worldwide.
