    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is making investigations into two incidents including a stabbing incident which left an adult male hospitalized.

     

    A press release issued today (Sept 17), informs that “an anonymous caller” made a report at the Basseterre Police Station at about 6:30 a.m. yesterday and upon investigating, they found that 28-year-old Gregory ’Webber’ Mills was the victim of a stabbing attack.

     

    “(The) caller…reported a wounding that took place at Frigate Bay Road in the vicinity of the Basseterre Fire Station. Police responded and eventually met with the victim Gregory Mills 28 years old of Newtown at the JNF General Hospital. Mills reported that he was attacked by a group of fellows and they stabbed him about his body. The victim was transported to the JNF General Hospital by a Fire Officer, where he received medical treatment and is now warded in stable condition.”

     

    The release informs that no one has been charged with the offence but further indicates that two individuals have been taken into police custody and are assisting with the investigations.

     

    The second incident which the authorities are investigating is a break-in which occurred at the Joseph N. France General Hospital. According to information disseminated by the police, the administration building of the hospital was broken into sometime between Sunday, September 12 and Monday, September 13.

     

    “On Monday 13th September 2010 police from the Criminal Investigations Department responded to a report of a breaking at the JNF General Hospital. Police enquiries revealed that a senior administrative officer secured the Administration Building at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday 12th September 2010 and at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday 13th September 2010 when another senior administrative officer showed up for work they discovered that the Administrative Building was broken into.

     

    “According to the investigators a larceny was also associated with the breaking. Officers from the Crime Scene Department also process the crime scene in search of additional evidence. There are no suspects in custody for this breaking but investigations are ongoing.”

     

    The police are calling on members of the public to divulge any information which would assist them with their investigations into these incidents. All are reminded that information can be given anonymously and all information will be handled confidentially.
