Charlestown, Nevis - On Thursday 9th September, 2010, the Nevis based members of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (“STEP”) held their inaugural meeting and elected an Executive Committee. The members of the Executive Committee of STEP are:

STEP, which was founded in 1991, is an international professional body of workers in the trust and estate administration industry.  Its members are mainly attorneys, accountants, trust administrators, bankers and insurance professionals.  STEP is now officially in 34 jurisdictions, with a current membership in excess of 14,500.  In the Caribbean, there are branches in Anguilla, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands Saint Lucia, the Turks and Caicos Islands and of course Nevis.

The main focus of the organization is to provide educational and networking opportunities for its members and to shape public policy as it affects the industry.  The designation “TEP”, which members are allowed to use after their names is a widely recognized mark of quality in the trust and estate administration field.  Further information regarding joining the Nevis branch of STEP is available on STEP's website, www.step.org.

STEP Nevis will have a launch event on November 4, 2010 at a venue to be announced and will commence professional development meetings starting in January, 2011.
