BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 17TH 2010 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, Hon. Patrice Nisbett, will represent the Federation’s Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas at 27th Independence Anniversary celebrations in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.
The Nevisian-born Attorney General will deliver remarks on behalf of Prime Minister Douglas during an Independence Dinner on Saturday 18th September at La Piazza Prospect Reef Hotel, Tortola.
According to organisers, Leader of the Opposition in the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly, the Hon. Mark Brantley has been invited to give brief remarks.
Former Nevisian-born United States Virgin Islands Senator, the Hon. Roosevelt David will deliver the Feature Address.
Top British Virgin Islands officials including Governor His Excellency Boyd McCleary; Premier Hon. Ralph T. O’Neal and Leader of the Opposition, Dr. the Hon. D. Orlando Smith have also been invited to attend the St. Kitts and Nevis 27th Independence Anniversary Dinner.
A Church Service is planned for Sunday 19th September (Independence Day) at the Upper Room Victory Church of Nevisian-born Pastor Mervin Herbert.
Other celebrants include Kittitian Rev. Elroy Liburd of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church of Tortola; Kittitian Rev. Tyrone Hunkins of the Methodist Church in Tortola and Kittitian Rev. Bersley Isaac of the Moravian Church in Tortola.
The Independence Celebrations are organised jointly by the Nevis Alliance Progressive Society and the St. Kitts Association of the BVI.
