BASSETERRE, St. Kitts- ALTHOUGH the concert was originally set to begin 7:30, the first act did not appear until some minutes past 11:00p.m but all of the artistes did a great job in delivering good performances last night at the Bird Rock Basketball Court.
‘Sweet Voices’ out of Old Road was the opening act and definitely delivered a performance consistent with the name of the group. They were followed by Treblo who belted out the tune ‘Why are we Fighting’ and a number of other songs.
Daggah, highly rated as the Federation’s leading Hip Hop Artiste took command of the stage following ‘Sweet Voices’ and managed to work the audience a bit, with many patrons joining him as he sang. He came on stage singing ‘I Rep My City’ and gave patrons a teaser of his new track ‘SK Anthem’.
Daggah left the stage with one of his singles ‘I’ll Never Give Up’ which was a crowd favourite . However, things then got a little more exciting as the host ‘Triple S’ Sweet Sister Sensia announced that S Model Management was next to perform.
The crowd then pressed closer to the front and was dazzled by the young women who strutted across the stage in their dazzling make up.
The ‘Underground’ twin rappers then took the stage spitting lyrics after lyrics while performing a number of songs and they were followed by the Dymanyzd princesses with their two big singles ‘Phone Again’ and ‘Beat Pon me Drum’. S Model Magement took the stage once again displaying customs for the ‘Red Devils’ a J’Ouvert troupe to be featured during the upcoming carnival celebrations.
A second group of models from the Identity Modeling Agency was next to rip the stage, they were followed by the FMM rappers after which the models made a second appearance, this time heating things up dressed in swimwear and rocking some tantalizing tops with the colors of the flag.
C-Money ‘De gals dem honey’ then made his way to the stage and was greeted with screams. He performed ‘Cant Tek Too Much’ and a short acapella which the crowd enjoyed so much thatit warranted an encore. C-Money was accompanied on stage by Footsy, Bal-G and Lil Barzie.
The Triple S DJ then sent the crowd wild as she performed a portion of a song on one the artistes at the event whom she claims has always wanted to challenge her.
The organizers of the event, Chronical Family were the last to take the stage they performed a number of tracks including ‘Living In A World Illusion’ and there all time big hit ‘Nothing Like my Moma Love’.
Shakal also sang to the ladies his version of Neyo’s ‘Miss Independent’. They also introduced a number of new arties in the Chronical Family and featured a new single about the Frigate Bay Strip.
They brought the curtains down on the concert segment of the event then it was time for Sweet Sister Sensia once again who did an excellent job in keeping the crowd which had grew lager at this time fully entertained.
The Nu Vibes Band International was up next who got things started with a little slow tempo and got into full swing as the night progressed.
