Basseterre, St. Kitts - On Thursday 16th September-National Heroes day within the Federation of St.Kitts and Nevis, Ms Vera Herbert led a contingent of walkers from three connecting villages on what was dubbed a ‘Unity Walk’.
Ms Herbert, a Community Development Officer within the Minsitry of Social Development indicated that the reason behind the walk was basically three fold:
1. To place the crucial element of Health on the front burner
2. To link persons within the Villages of Cotton Ground, Barnes Ghaut and Jessups into socializing a lot more
3. To enjoy the brand new road which in essence, links the three villages
The walk started at the popular ‘Five turning’ in Cotton Ground, upwards through Barnes Ghaut where more persons joined in the venture and down through Jessups where additions to the group were also made.
Ms Herbert has promised that she will seek to continue similar activities as she seeks to promote Health and good will within the connected communities
