    , St. Kitts (June 15, 2006): Persons intending to take up studies in nursing at Cuban institutions under the scholarship programme are being granted an extension to prepare themselves before leaving for Cuba.
    They are being asked however to indicate their interest to the Cuban Embassy as soon as possible so that they can get guidance and begin the preparatory process.
     
    Originally, successful candidates should have left for Cuba by June 20th but have now been given until July 20th.

    The requirements for entry into the nursing programme include a third form education and candidates must be from a low income family. 

    Persons must also present documentation to show that they are HIV negative and not  pregnant. Individuals must also be 25 years of age or below.
     
    An added bonus for the programme is a three month Spanish immersion class.
     
    Interested persons are asked to contact the Cuban Embassy at 466-3374.
