Charlestown, Nevis - Football Coach within the Ministry of Sports in the Nevis, Leroy ‘Jun-Jun’ Sweeney, yesterday confirmed that the under 13 Football festival that was previously planned for last weekend will now be held this coming Saturday, 25th September 2010.
The previously planned event which was scheduled to take place last weekend had to be postponed due to the unfayourable weather conditions.
Sweeney however confirmed that the youngster will definitely have their day this coming Saturday 25th September as the one day Football show down will be held at the Bath Village Playing field.
He noted that the Antigua team will no longer be a part of the line up but indicated that some four teams will be participating: The Nevis youngsters will be divided into two teams and there will be two teams represented from St.Kitts--one from the Village and the other from Newtown.
The action is set to start at 11 am and Sweeney is inviting the Football fans on Nevis to come out and witness some exciting Football as the young players demonstrate their skills.
He further indicated that the players will be keenly observed with a view towards selection to the National under 13 team by one of the National under 13 coaches and also by the National senior Coach.
Sweeney has predicted that based on the way his team is responding in practice, that the two representative teams from Nevis will be in the grand finals.
