LIAT resumes flights to Canouan

Press Release

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, September 22, 2010 – Regional airline LIAT announces the resumption of flights to and from Canouan.

The Company suspended services to the island on August 26 due to a downgrade of the fire services at the Canouan Jetport. The fire service which had been downgraded to category two is now upgraded to category 5 which is the minimum requirement for LIAT to fly to any destination.

LIAT operates a total of six flights to Canouan each week – two on Fridays, two on Saturdays and two on Sundays. The flights all originate in Barbados.
