Progressive, innovative and inventive are words that embody the full essence of what both my discipline and I are all about. I, Aylahnique Thompson, am ever progressive because I believe in moving forward, regardless of the difficulty in any complicated situation.
I am innovative and inventive because I offer and create new and exciting tactics for my students to successfully excel academically.
I am no unfamiliar person to the stage as I often represented my school, The Cayon High School in successful debates and speeches. I was president of the CHS Young Leaders and an active member of the Junior Achievement Programme conducted at the school. I was also always an A1 at both the Gingerland Secondary School and the Cayon High School.
I positioned 1st runner-up in the UDC Talented Teen Pageant 2006-07 and was given a fair chance of being a semi finalist in Kittitian Super Star 2007. I am one of the unidentified voices in the background of one of the most talented local artiste, “Infamus’. This gave me the opportunity to perform at many shows and events namely, The St.Kitts Music Festival.
Although my passion is in the performing arts, I intend to perfect my discipline, Technology, in the first ever St. Kitts Teachers Union Pageant. A standing ovation for the union, because of its believe that the use of technology within the classroom is a must, if we are to successfully equip our young people to exist in a rapidly developing world. I have been a contributing member of the union since 2009 and am a satisfied recipient of the many benefits available to all its members.
I am presently a teacher at the Beach Allen Primary School and am prepared to walk the roads of a Career Path within the education system. I have already accomplished one step along this path, which is becoming a teacher and hope to conquer the step on becoming a Trained Graduate Teacher.
I enjoy teaching my students about the importance of family values, respect and their education. Hence, I make firm attempts to remind them that “possibility is their responsibility”, that they will always be held responsible for making everything possible.
It evokes much pleasure to express my sincere thanks to God almighty and to ALL the persons who afforded me the opportunity to showcase my talent to all my family, friends and students. With profound practice and dedication, I am confident in assuring you that this will be a show like no other.
