The party,held at the TDC Grounds on Saturday, October 2,was in celebration of Altonia ‘Ali’ Springer birthday which falls on October 3.
The young lady, who is known as a ‘Party Diva’, said that it was the third event of such nature and she wanted to have a good time while celebrating.
The event, which began with some early ‘juggling’, was provided with music from Ruff House Sound and Freedom Sound which started from around 10:00 p.m. The event also featured three of the Federation’s top bands.
Kollision Band was the first to perform; a band that recently has been gaining tremendous increase in its fan-base since their music has significantly improved and even landed them more overseas gigs.
Grand Masters was the second band to take the stage. They too had the large crowd in a dancing frenzy, especially with the addition of former Nu Vybes Band’s bass player Chad ‘Suckie’ Benjamin.
Finally, the band that refers to itself as “the sweetest band in the world”, Small Axe, showed the patrons why it is still going strong after being around for so many years.
The event also featured a mini-fashion show dubbed ‘Rip the Runway’ with models from S Model Management who showcased outfits in three different segments.
The first segment showed the creativity of the models as they ‘funkied up’ their agency top, while the second segment was dubbed ‘Simply White’ with sexy, flowing white casual outfits, and the final segment, which was crowd’s favorite, was swimsuit wear.
The fashion show was hosted by Sweet Sister Sensia and Pinnochio.
According to Springer, the fashion segment was in honour of her grandmother who recently passed away and who had always encouraged her to ‘hit’ the stage.
Nicha B, SMI, ITYC, C-Money and other local artistes also performed at the event.
The night also featured free food and patrons were encouraged to dress ‘glittery’.
