BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE former member of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force who was taken into police custody after guns and ammunition were found at his home, has since been formally arrested and charged.
Errol Glasgow was taken into custody on October 1, 2010 after police officers on Nevis executed an early-morning exercise on the premises he occupies and found two firearms (a .38 revolver and a .22 pistol) along with 75 assorted rounds of ammunition. The illegal items were also taken into police custody.
SKNVibes understands that later that day, the former Constable was formally charged with “illegal possession of a firearm” and “illegal possession of ammunition”. It is understood that he is still in police custody and is scheduled to appear before the court tomorrow.
While there, Glasgow may make application for bail. However, it is unclear whether he will do so, and it is also unclear whether or not the police will object to his bail application.
The weapons found at Glasgow’s home are the 37th and 38th illegal firearms to have been removed from the Federation’s streets for the year.
