BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 5TH 2010 (CUOPM) – The Organisation of American States (OAS) and the Ministry of National Security and Immigration are joining forces to implement a project that will strengthen information on public security.

Resident OAS Representative, Mr. Starret Greene will hand over to St. Kitts and Nevis Minister of National Security and Immigration, Hon. Sam Condor, a quantity of crime fighting equipment.

The equipment includes a Desk Top Computer, a Laptop, a printer and a scanner.

“The OAS will also donate the requisite software that will allow for the collection of the data – a public security tool kit and manual,” said Mr. Greene.

He said that the collection of the data is similar to that collected by the United States surrey on crime trends and operations of criminal justice systems.

The handing over ceremony will be held at the Minister’s Pelican Mall Office on Thursday morning.
