BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – SANDY POINT singing sensation C-Money has a surprise in store for his fans and the music-loving public, as he is hoping to give calypsonians a run for their money this year by entering the Calypso arena.

In an exclusive interview, C-Money, born Collin Wyatt, told SKNVibes that his sister has always been encouraging him to try and enter the annual Calypso Monarch Competition. “She always tells me she thinks I would do a good job,” he added.

This would not be the first shot at calypso for the singer, who is originally known for singing Reggae and Dancehall with an R&B flavour. In 2000 C-Money was crowned Calypso King in the Sandy Point High School Calypso Competition and he entered the Talented Teen Junior Calypso Competition in 2001 and 2002 in representation of his school, where he placed Second Runner-up in both years.

“I like a challenge. In high school I was dared and I did well, so now I want to see how I would do up against the big boys,” C-Money said.

He went on to say that he has already started working on three songs, but although the tracks are still untitled he hopes to release them sometime next month.

The artiste said the three tracks are just like any of his other songs - inspirational - and have messages to which the public could relate. He also said that one of the songs is a bit groovy, with a little wittiness added to it.

C-Money said he knows his fans would be surprised at his decision but he wants them to know that he would still be the same person and the standard of music would not be any different. “The songs are for the young and old,” he stressed.
