Xclusive Model Management first event dubbed ‘Candy Shop’

By: Cherisse M. Sutton-Jeffers, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Xclusive Model Management (XMM) transformed Fusion into a ‘Candy Shop’ on Saturday night (Oct. 9) when the agency held its first ever fashion show, teasing the patrons taste buds.

The show featured 10 models - eight females and two males - who made appearances in swimwear and other designs by Sugar Town Wish List, A. James- Attitude Tee's, Riff Raff, Pelican Clothing, Island Hopper, Island Treasures and Daffodils.

Many patrons claimed that the most memorable segment was the one that brought the curtains down; it was called ‘Xclusively Sweet’. In this segment, all of the models ripped the runway, each in a creative wear made out of various edible candies.

Each female model in this segment gave herself a name to compliment her outfit. The named themselves School Candy, Cotton Candy Bride, Soccer Candy Gem, Rainbow Candy Girl, Black and Sweet, Candy Queen, Candy Bunny and Sunshine Candy.

According to XMM’s CEO and Manager Chantal Rogers, who is also the trainer of the models, the fund raising event had realised a fairly good turnout for the ladies to show off what they have learnt over the past four months. The agency was established in May 2010.

The show, which was hosted by Sweet Sister Sensia, featured Cinnamon, Phresh Kut, Jah Fire, Dymanyzd and Simba, who all performed a number of their latest releases, along with the H20 dancers. It concluded with an after party and music was provided by Chalice Sound, Shaggy and DJ Flames.

Rogers said the feedback they receive was good.

“The models had a grand time, as this event was some of the models first time modelling. The models really impressed me, because I never knew that they were so creative and would have gone so much out of the way with the candy wear and they were only given two weeks to come up with their own ideas,” she added.

The CEO said the public could definitely look forward to another exciting and catchier event from the Xclusive Models in the future.
