MIAMI, Florida – BUJU BANTON finally received some good news Thursday (Oct. 14) after being incarcerated for the past 10 months in a Florida prison.

According to one876entertainment.com, the Jamaican singer was granted bail in the sum of $250 000 at the Sam M Gibbons Federal Court under a number of terms and conditions.

Although Buju would know longer be inside a cell, he would only be able to leave his house for meetings with his attorney, for doctors’ appointments and to purchase medication. He would also have to wear an electronic monitoring device and be subjected to random drug testing.

Buju had his entertainment visa revoked last December after he had been arrested. His lawyer is currently seeking bond in the Immigration Court to prevent his deportation to Jamaica.

The popular reggae singer recently went through a trail hearing after having the date pushed back several times, of which his case was declared a mistrial after the jury could not arrive at a verdict. He is currently awaiting a new trail in December.

The 37-year-old Jamaican was arrested in his Tamarac, Florida home, allegedly trying to purchase more than five kilograms of cocaine from undercover officers. He pleaded not guilty to the charges of conspiracy to possess and intent to distribute cocaine.

On September 28, despite his incarceration Buju Banton’s ‘Before The Dawn’ 10 track album was released in stores.
