Veteran model to host fashion event

Jason Amory

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE name Jason Amory is synonymous with fashion and pageantry modeling in the twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, and he will be showcasing his creativity in a fashion event called ‘Colours’ on Sunday, October 24.

The leading model choreographer said that his fashion show would be held at Carnival Village from 5:00 p.m.

Models from Amory’s agency Mavado, Xclusive Model Management and S Model Management will be showcasing local and regional designs.

Amory said his agency has been around for 10 years and that he has been modelling for over 20 years. His modelling career started with Classique Model Agency.

“Classique was started by my friend Angie Benjamin, who was one of St. Kitts’ top models. She asked me to join the agency not only a model but also as a choreographer,” he said.

Amory noted that the theme of the show came in light of Tourism Month, which is in October, and he wanted the event to reflect on the various races of people of the Federation, tourists and various colours and styles of designs that would be showcased.

“People will see a fashion show at its best with well choreographed models. The models have been trained on how to properly handle themselves onstage, showcase poise, beauty and style in lovely clothing designs,” he said.

Designs will come from Winnielle Pereira’s Irie Lioness Designs, Shaki Heath’s African Wear and also a surprise Jamaican designer.

“Modelling is looked at as entertainment, so this will be a great Sunday afternoon fashion show for young and old,” he said.

Amory said that former Classique models would also make an appearance.

And for those who can remember what the former top agency was in the past, they can then expect nothing but class at the event.

The show will also feature C-Money and Evolution Sounds. Tickets are on sale at Mini Walls.
